The most useful thing I was ever told was from my father... it was "Son, Worry about the things you CAN change... don't worry about the things you CAN'T"...
I can't think of any bad advise... both mom and dad usually gave me the best advise there was to give... although... I didn't listen most of the time... :D

My father and brother have always treated me in a protective but unstifling manner - something I will love them both for forever.
Most significant thing my father ever did was sit me down when I was about 12 or 13 and had an honest talk about sex. What to expect. How boys are etc. It's just something I always remembered and it saved me from making mistakes that could have easily been made. IT was nice that he did it when i was young so I didn't feel so confused in my teen years.

I don't know bc what ever it was i ignored it-don't most kids? By society's standards I turned out alright too I guess. I think it's the examples they set by doing rather than telling. When you tell a kid something it seems (when I observe others) that they will most likely rebel against it; but if nothing is said but that good thing is rather just done, the kid will follow suit. Advice is worthless if the action is not followed.

My mother has given me so much good advice that it's hard to chose. I have found that the majority of it was true. She told me to keep living and I'd find out the rest is too. I think the best would be " A still tongue makes a wise head." I think the worst is when she .......... . I can't think of it right now.

The best advice was that the Bible is the best self-help book in the world and worth taking the time to read and understand it. The worst was something about wearing clean underwear in case I got hit by a car.

My uncle once told me when i was 4, while i was crying over my scaped knee, he said "suck it up, pain is only temporary." And my father's advice on women was this.."if you want to keep your girlfriend, never ever obsess over her, and she ever wants to break up tell her go right ahead and that you'll probably be happier. Girls like to make their man miserable, so the thought of you being happy will make her stay.

My father always told me to be myself in everything that I do and to always be true to myself. My mum told me never to assume anything. I don't think that my parents have really ever given me any bad advice because as much as I hate to admit it they are always right!
