I also doubt if you have any food in the sockets. At this stage it will still be blood clots, and you should not try to dislodge these. Also, the damaged tissue will appear white sometimes, and will naturally wear away. Remember, if this was on the outside skin you would form a scab and you would leave it alone, but in the mouth it is always moist, so you won't get a dry scab.
The wound will NOT heal over the food debris, and there is NO risk of infection if you don't clean it out. Salt water is unnecesssary.
It can take from 3-12 weeks for the wound to fully close up. After about a week, when the new skin has formed a bit, then the annoying food may be gently eased out with either cotton buds, or a curved plastic syringe with tap water. Your dentist or pharmacist might have one to give you. But it is NOT harmful.

Peridex works great! You should be able to contact your dentist for a prescription. If not, warm salt water is a good substitute. Usually they will give you an irrigating syringe to gently flush the sockets if food gets packed in there. Be careful it's not a clot you're trying to get out. If that comes out, you will develop a dry socket...much pain will follow that. Be gentle with it no matter what. It will take up to 6 months to fully heal and sometimes a year. You have to remember that sometimes bone comes out along with the teeth, so your body has to have time to regenerate that bone and tissue. I hope this helps!

THE STRAW ON TO THE END OF A VACUUM IS NOVEL, BUT NOT SAFE. A BETTER WAY IS TO USE AN ARAL IRRIGATOR, SUCH AS A WATERPIK. IF THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE TRY USING A TURKEY BASTER FILLED WITH WARM WATER TO FLUSH THE FOOD OUT OF THE SOCKET. YOU DON'T WANT TO LEAVE THE FOOD THERE AND CAUSE A POTENTIAL INFECTION

It might not be food, it might be the blood-clot, which belongs there. Keep on rinsing, brush all other teeth, but leave that area alone for at least another day. then you can start (veeeeery softly) cleaning in this area as well
