How can I find statistics on the rates of severe mental illness and whether or not they are going up?

Yes-only because it is used as an excuse to justify crimes.

Yes the rates are rising,,so are taxes and immigration,,I guess our two countries are suffering from the BB syndrome,,Bush and Blair,,both are a pair of tossers who love nothing more than being in the limelight,,no wonder we have high rates in mental illness,,I know I am suffering,,it's coz I'm sick,,sick of Blair and his labour loonies and all the other no hopers such as the doogooder brigades,,my grandfather who fought in two world wars would be turning in his grave right now at the state of this country,,the best news I have heard lately is that Blair and Bush will not be around too much longer,,the sooner the better.

no i believe mental illnesses have always been around at a high rate but its only now that they decided to put more media out about it

I can't see how much more it can rise. It appears like the majority of people suffer from some kind of mental illness due to stress and another major factor: Poor nutrition!

i dont believe there are more people in the world now with mental illness then there was 20 years ago i believe we are just more aware of these illness's. more research has been done and people are more open about there problems these days.

Yahoooooooooooo if they are its probaly to do with drink, drugs and pressure to compete in a overcrowding commercial society.

no its just we are more aware education etc and not everyone with mental health issues are insane ....like stress depression etc etc ....
