My cats name is Familiar. My last cats name was Joon, and I had one named Fred, and Moses. Mostly you have to see what your cat wants to be named. Spend some time with your cat....dont think about the name thing for awhile....and suddenly the perfect one will come.

Our cats are Grixie (6 month old kitten), Bunter (9 y.0. Male Manx - no tail) and Junior (16 year old female max with a thin tail).

It took us weeks to name each cat when we got it. We got Junior right after we saw Indian Jones and the Lost Crusade and I wanted to name her Indiana, but my husband said, "No, That's the dog's name." So he named her Henrietta Jones Junior (Junior for short). He loves this story.

Bunter was named after a character in Dorothy L. Sayers books. (He's a tuxedo cat and runs the household!)

And Grixie just sounded right for the kitten.

We have Alexandra Anastasia aka AlliAnn, Albal, Alex, Old fart, or head butter-- Big, Black, Old and the queen hence the long name.

We got a little boy kitten and named him Billy the Kid (southern gentleman with a wild side, slightly misunderstood& he lived up to his name to he died at about 21 in kitty years) and he needed a friend so we got Belle Star aka Miss Star, Belly, Tubbs, Tubby, Squishy Face (Big and furry who will eat anything).

I also always wanted a fat cat and name it MOO.

My Cat is Dude Lubowski, Dude for short. I named him after a funny movie.

My last cat was McCavity named for a T.S. Elliot poem; Opossums book of Practical Cats.

We like natural names (as in Nature).
Our male is called Ash Wolverine,
His girlfriend is called Rain Lilith
and the two adopted kittens (they are 1 1/2 years old but they still believe they are kittenes) are called
Crystal Jade
Silver Comet.
Both are girls, but we thought Silver was a boy when we got them because she was very naughty, peeing all over the place and destroying everything. She's still very naughty

I have a couple (or so) cats--- Timmy, Bubbles, Sam, Scarlett, Pitty, Butters, and Callie. The names come from their personalities (Ok I was watching South Park when Timmy and Butters came here--trust me, the names fit!!!) And Miss Scarlett is indeed MISS Scarlett--we do wait hand and foot on the lady!

Often, it helps to give it a little time to see how the cat's personalities are. It will help you decide what to call them once you know them a bit better.

Best of luck.
