This is a feeler. He wants to see how you feel about him as a possible husband and marriage in general. A response that would have yielded positive results would have been "I think you would make a wonderful husband,"

He can't. That is the sad truth. A man cannot on his own be a good husband. that is the duty of the wife to make him the husband she would like out of him and vise versa.
A good husband is made by the wife, and a good wife is made by the husband. Where it has not worked, charge the two.
