I think idol worshipping or Personification of god is like K.G class or lower class education of god. In the beginning it is good but it shouldn't be the aim of life. It is good to be born in religion but it bad to die in the same stage. It means we have not made any progress in life. for example if a child is admitted in l.k.g and after twenty years he is still in the same class.
My Master says," Where Religion ends Spiritulality begins.
Where Spirituality ends,Reality begins. And when this too ends then we come in the state of Bliss and beyond it words cann't describe.
God is in our heart and the best way to worship Him to realise Him in our heart. He is in our heart as a seed and we have to give Him an atmosphere to grow. Let him shine throgh you. This is true worship.

Okey-doke. Idols localize God. God isn't concentrated into the material of the thing that's getting worshiped and it's wrong to think that God is in there rather than in the universe, in nature, in life, in love, in beauty. When you focus your worship energy on an object, you merely create a personal talisman for yourself, imbuing your object with the power of your devotions.
It would have been more believable if I hadn't said "imbuing" but I'm going to press on..
If God is to have some greater realty in your life, focusing your idea of God can't be that localized.

hi!dear!u mean u pray GOd by worshipping an idol?no,it's not a good way to worship GOd..he himself doesn't like us to worship idiols instead of Him or as a reminder of Him,u should pray to GOd himself not an oyher idiol..because all idiols are weaker than God,they can't do anything themselves!if u want to pray God,u can read ur religious book(I don't know what urs is,mine is Quran,do u know it?),u can go to places in which God is worshipped&prayed...in Christian religion they go to churches.in my religion we go to Masjids.....why choosing an idiol while God himself doesn't like us to do that?!
