Free will. You have it. It would be your choice to bend the 'guidelines' no one elses. But it is all part of your learning experiance. People learn (hopefully) from their mistakes, no one is perfect.

Actually I did not have two parents who did the things you listed, I took care of myself for the majority of my life, and I was looked after by grandparents for some of my childhood. They were good people but they eventually died. I made most of my major life decisions without help and thus far I have avoided all injury or disaster by careful living. I would agree however that if I have had success I attribute it to my own efforts and likewise my failures are my own. So if I die in a disaster or not it's all the same as far as I can see "God" is still not part of the picture... Was your point that people shouldn't blame God for their misfortunes - well and good - but why should we thank a God for our own successful efforts either? It seems a pointless thing to give thanks for the "inevitable" fruits of our own labours as much as to curse about suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

First off, I don't think disastor will inevitably strike. There are no parents that are right all the time.
To answer the question though, if I am an adult capable of making my own choices, I should be adult enough to take the fall that may accompany such choice.

Well, I don't blame gods for how my life turns out, I'm the captain of my own ship and the master of my own soul.
And the same does not apply to a god, a god is not your parent and they can't feed you, clothe you, etc... and not all parents do that anyways.... Some parents are really crappy.

What is the question? Is this directed toward believers that arent christian, or atheists?
I can see God through the parenting process. We teach our children, and try to give them all the tools they will need for survival, and have a good life. But we eventually have to let them go and let them live. They will make mistakes, and we hope they will come to us when they need help. We love them, but we can control their choices/decisions.

"The same applies to God"....therefore he exists? Give me a break. Nothing is inevitable in someone's life except death. Saying otherwise just weakens the will to think for one's self, thus creating doubt. Doubt makes one succumb to influence to a "greater" being. If only a lie can put someone at that level of vulnerability, how truthful is the outcome?

I would have to assume that a GOD is quite different than my parents, or any parents. Therefore, the GOD who is suppose to be the "Creator" of all things, should be the number one "person, place or thing" to be responsible for what he/she creates.
Parents had sex and combined the genes that were passed on to them, which according to many religions were originally started by an act of God. So, to compare the two is quite . . um. . .like comparing the Sun to a spark from a Zippo lighter.

Of course,in the quick moment where disaster struck,I've foolishly blame my parent's.But now when I recall that incident,I truly know that disaster that I got into is due to my own faults.I've always regret for blaming my parents.

What if your parents are jerks and their advice was stupid and they neglected you and abused you? Then when you're out in the real world and fail, isn't it fair to blame them for being crummy parents?
The same does not apply to god. God is a concept, not a living creature you have constant contact with that actually affects your life. God only affects you if you believe in him. Parents affect you because they exist right in front of you.

Neither........... not only are you a product of your parents, you are also a product of society. Hopefully your parents have put enough fear of God into you not to make any disastrous decisions. Fear of God..... :) ... sound like a way of controlling something that has been given free will eh.
Anyone else smell smote...... or is it just me?
