This guy that I've been dating over a year, told me not too long ago that he had "fooled" around with another girl when he first met me. He told me that it was very early when he first met me & our relationship wasn't serious yet. So why would he come out & tell me now, 8 months after the fact? Had it been bugging him? When he told me, I got upset, kinda crying & asking why,& hopefully that didn't scare him to think that he can never be honest with me because of the way I reacted. What do you think?

well its good he was honcest wiht you. it was prbably btohering him alot. maybe he felt liek it would be more right to tell you when you guys are serious now, cause im sure if he told you only after a few months you were dating you wouldve broke it off with him. its probably that and a guilty concious(sp) and he felt comfortable only telling you it now. i dont know how your realtionship is, im sure its great. you should just talk to him if he's ever done anything else. but i would keep and eye on him if i were you....

but just let him know that yoy can always be honest with someone. what did he expect, you were going to be all happy and laughing about it. NO. everyone cries in their relationship. let him know its okay to tell the truth ALWAYS, thats the way it should be. and not to be discouraged by tthe informatin he gives you, thats just the way you react to it. noone can help how they react to hearing certain things.
good luck

The good thing is that he was honest. Or he just felt too guilty to bear with it. The bad thing is that you'll never know if he is still doing it and he'll tell you in 6 months. Can you live with that? Honestly it is not an excuse that your relationship wasn't serious at that moment, because if you don't start respecting your girlfriend since the very beginning, you will never do it. Keep that in mind. If you can't live with that, I suggest finding a new boyfriend.

it does NOT matter how early your relationship is. if you were already together when it happened, he cheated. it means HE was not serious about the relationship. must be bugging him if he had to bring it up now. but its your call...can YOU trust him. you have every right to be upset, and it should not give him a reason not to be honest w/you again. if he cant be honest, theres no reason to be together.

The guilt was probably bothering him a lot, and he needed to get it off his chest. You two should talk it through and find out exactly what was going through his mind at the time.

Guilty conscience......or he's beginning to care for you, and thinks you should know.
I guess you'll find out........if you dont hear from him. But I strongly doubt it.
