Yorkies, and any other dog, can get a variety of worms, including, Roundworms, Hookworms, Tape worms, Whip worms, and possibly Heartworms. You need to take the dog to a vet with a stool sample to determine the type of worms, so that he or she can be wormed properly. It's probably a safe bet that your pup doesn't have Heartworms, , but he or she will still need to be on preventive medication to avoid getting them in the future.

A Yorkie gets the same type of worms as any other breed/mix of dog. You need to take a stool sample into the vet and have it tested. If it does have worms you will find out what type and the vet can give you the proper medication for the type(s) she has and also for her size. Do NOT use OTC products as they are worthless and can also be dangerous to your dog. They also may not be the right kind for the type(s) worms the puppy has.

If the puppy is less then 6 months old the vet won't do a heartworm test on her (which is a bloodtest) because heartworms won't show up younger then this.

Puppies can be infested with a number of different kinds of worms; roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, whipworms. When you take your pup to the vet for it's first check up and shots bring along a fresh stool sample. The vet will test the stool and tell you what type of worms your pup has and give you medication to treat them. You are much better off and your puppy is much better off if you do this than just guessing at the type of worms and buying something from a pet store. Don't worry all pups have worms. They are easily treated.

Puppies can get roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and for the moment I can't think of the other kind, but what makes you think it has worms? If you see tiny white woorms crawling around the behind, it is tapeworms. If the puppy has a potbelly but seems to be skinny everywhere else, it has a heavy infestation of worms, probably roundworms, maybe hookworms too and these worms can suck the blood right out of a pup. Look to see if the gums are pink. If they are white, the pup is anemic. Take it to the vet and he will see what kind of worms it has and give the proper wormer. He will give it a shot if it hasn't already been started on ths puppy shots or if it is time for another one.

They can get a ton of different worms. My question would be what kind of a breeder did you buy her from that would take that poor a care of the pup that she would have worms? Take her to the vet immediately (take a stool sample along with you). If she has worms she could also have other problems.

They get the same worms as other dogs. Hookworms, roundworms, etc. Take her to the vet. Wasn't she dewormed before you got her? What makes you think it's worms?

She may have tapeworm, round worm, etc. Get her tested for heartworms as well as that can be fatal.
