I am looking to buy car but its carfax report says a "lien was reported" and their was a "duplicate title." Is this bad?-what does this mean?

This means that the car was probably repossessed.
They could only get a duplicate title.
If that is the case, the owners probably did not take very
good care of it either, knowing that it might not be there
soon. Also, if they did not have enough money to make
their car payment, then they probably did not have the
money to keep up the routine maintenance.

i own a repair shop, and there's also another meaning for that term, and it is that the original was lost, and another one was applied for ,and they also call this a duplicate, and it don't hurt the sell of it one bit either, but it can mean a few different things it don't mean the car is junk though,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
