If you have tried relaxation therapy, and work a full-time job..and you still cant get tired enough to go to sleep...you probably do have a sleep disorder. There are several things that can disturb sleep, such as increased stress, sleep apnea (not getting enough oxygen for you body). fatigue. They do "sleep studies" to help ppl who cant sleep. I, personally, had to take sleeping pills for 7 yrs due to a very stressful home life...once the ex was gone...I started sleeping like a baby again...who knew that a man could stress me out so much-lol. Make an appt with your local physician for an assessment...he will know how to help you. Sometimes if you are too stressed or fatigued, your body doesnt know how to relax so that you can rest.
Hope this helps.

Heres a quiz for you? Are you unable to fall asleep, waking up during the night, or waking up to early? Then you might have a sleep disorder called insomnia. Relaxing and taking hot bath and all that will not work. You really do need to see a doctor. Do you Sleep walk or talk or have bad dreams, and night terrors. This is another kind of sleep disorder. I have sleep apnea. I wake up in the middle of the night because i quit breathing, and i often find it hard to go back to sleep after waking up. Thats also a sleep disorder. Then theres Narcalepsy if you always sleeping always tired and you fall to sleep weird times a day at weird times. 40 million americans suffer from sleep disorders. Your sister needs to be more concerned.

I used to have sleeping problems too. I would lie in bed for about 2 hours till I fell asleep. Now your problem might be a little different because I never felt i needed to go to a doctor but here is a few things you can do:
1. take a bath before bed to relax your muscles
2. if your laying in bed for over an hour get out of your bed and read or do something boring
3.DO NOT take over the counter night time medicines. (it makes it worse)
4. try eating peanut butter on whole wheat toast.(its amazing for falling asleep)
Well hope these helped!!!

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

if you go to the Dr. then he can run a sleep disorder test on you at the hospital. we had to have that tes done on my daughter and all it was was one night at hospital and then they called us with the results. i don't know of anything on line you can do but best thing is to just go to Dr. if sister wont take you then have someone else or call a cab. but go see a Dr.
