One does not enroll in the Army. You enlist and commit your life to the public good. It doesn't matter who you have sex with as long as you comply with the UCMJ and behavior policies (ie Don't Ask, Don't Tell). You break the rules, you pay the consequences.

Im in the Army and I know there are alot of gay couples who are enlisted members. You could do it, like others have said by implying the "Don't ask, Don't Tell". It would be a rouph road for you, think if the guys in basic find out they are showering in a open shower with a gay guy....what do yout hink they would do? As long as you don't mind living a very discreet life, then I'd say yes....you may join the Army.

I think you put this question on the boeard just to see what kind of response you would get. I would not suggest that anyone enroll inthe army if you are openly gay. A persdon who enrolls in the army is held to a higher standard. Being a gay person in the military doesn't make the jorney any easier.

You can join the Army as long as you don't disclose the fact that you are gay to the recruiters or the Army itself. Don't ask don't tell is the running policy with homosexuality in the military. So long as you do not engage in homosexual acts with other recruits or civilians, and do not engage in or display homosexual tendencies, you are in the clear.
