i am thinking about getting a yorkie.. but really dont know much about them... other then they are small and cute... but are they smart ,trainable , are they hard to potty train , do they get sick easy ect plus i really need to know how much one would cost me ? i know you cant be rite on with a price but close

I LOVE yorkies. I have 10 month old male yorkie. He cost $950 and boy he is just so smart. Yorkies are pretty hard to train but so far it's been okay with him. He came to us paper trained but it took a little refreshing for him before he completely got it. If you get your yorkie from a decent breeder and take him/her to the vet right away for a general checkup your yorkie should be fine. Also, beware of breeders with cheap prices that ask you to wire money via Western Union to Nigeria. They are scammers!! Also, if you have any further questions, I am on a forum, www.yorkietalk.com. Everyone on there is a yorkie lover and 99% of the members on there own 1 or more yorkies. If you go into their forum there are many different sections and you could ask as many questions as you want. They are all extremely helpful and love to help out new people inquiring about yorkies. There is also a forsale/wanted section on there.

If you don't get one from an excellent breeder, or an older more etablished dog, they can have really bad temperments since people back/yard/in~breed them so much. If I were you I would go to a yorkie rescue. They are smart and trainable, however housebreaking can be hard with small dogs because its so easy for them to slip under the couch and pee and you won't even know. Try using 'Second Nature Dog Litter' so the pup won't have to go all the way outside. They can be annoyingly excitable and energetic too. So, good luck with your search.

We have 3 yorkies and they are great pets. thay are smart and trainable we got two at the same time so potty training was a little difficult but with one you shoudn't have a problem. Price I'm not sure we went expensive so we could finance like $1200 just keep in mind they do yap and bark at everything and they cry when you leave but they are worth it!! Good Luck
