AJ is right, but it is not pink anymore.... it is a weird light greenish/cream like color kinda now with your picturem signature, your alien number, MSC #, yrs it is valid, it has a lot of halogram security features, and some stuff on the back.... it has quite a few stuff one it....
it is used kinda like a visa... it is a way for foreigners to live and work legally in the USA, you also use it like a visa to enter the country when you travel. there are rules to having it though, you will find them in the link i provided, and it also tell you the ways you can get one.
it is generally valid for 2 or 10 years depending on how you get it......
the second link has a picture at the bottom, but it does not really look exactly like what the new ones look like in terms of color and security features, but thats what it looks like in general.....

It is actually pink in color, not green. It's purpose is for you to carry to prove that you are here legally and enables someone to hire you for employment. It is normally good for the duration of your visa.The color may have changed but last I heard it was pink

its white and blue its called ocupational health and saftey green card u use to be approved on certain work sites once u got it it lasts ages and costs under $100aus the caurse to get one takes a day to do...................

It makes you partially Legal, But you can purchase them everywhere. That my friend is the true issue. Illegal=Criminal
