I was talking to my ex-best friend's ex-girlfriend. She was talking about how she wanted to move to East Georgia and go to college and settle down (with a husband and family). I told her, "Lots of people want to settle down, but they usually end up settling"... Settling for next best (and sometimes not even that). After going out with my ex-best friend, she (his ex-girlfriend) definitely has a whole world ahead of her. I just hope she graduates upwards and doesn't settle for the same kinds of men. Sorry, Jon.

People settle because it's easy. Hey look, i'm 70% happy with this person, which is better then being 20% happy while looking for someone who will make me 100% happy. People don't think the right one will ever come around, so they settle for what they think is close. It's hard to decide if he's not the one or if it's just a "grass is always greener on the other side" kinda thing. and that choice is the difference between being really happy and settling

Some people ,especially women, feel as if they have to be married by a certain age so they tend to settle for Mr. Right Now as opposed to waiting for Mr. Right. Some are just desperate and will take whatever looks their way.

Most people settle for less than what they want because they tend to think that after a while what they want isn't out there. So they give up.

some do it out of concern. they're merely afraid that no longer something (or extra effective) will come alongside, so as that they carry directly to what's accessible. some are no longer able to think of of themselves as deserving of the ultimate. some under no circumstances discovered what they deserved or maybe needed interior the 1st place, so as that they settle for the prevalent, or the least uncomfortable determination.

lazy I guess . . .it happens. People don't want to take the extra energy to find out if there is someone better for them. Or they don't want to simply risk a sure thing for a possibility that may or may not occur.

folks that's what we call: life.
