2 cats; 1 dog. My spouse and I were both raised with dogs, but we lived in an apartment that allowed cats (no dogs). We adopted a kitten. 10 years later, we added a dog b/c we thought it might be nice for the kids. Another 4 years later, and we added another cat b/c it needed a home and the first cat was getting up in years. The first cat died recently, and we found a kitten so we're now back up to 2 cats. Interestingly, the newest addition was born around the same time that the old cat died. Our replacement to help us through our grief? The middle cat just doesn't have the personality of the first cat.
