My compratiot and I are having a quarrel. If a modern day U.S. tank(any) went up against a garbage truck in a game of chicken. Who would come out victorious?! I think the tank,he thinks a garbage truck! Let the battle of the titans begin!

The tank wins. It gets 1/2 mile per gallon, it is very much heavier than a garbage truck.

Here's what beats a tank: an equal WEIGHT of Toyota Tacoma pickups (dozens of 'em) with anti-tank rockets mounted in the pickup bed. You can't shoot 'em all.

The Toyotas also "get" the two kerosene trucks it takes to fuel that one tank.

Scissors cut paper.

The garbage truck. The tank may outweigh it by several tons but size is no guarantee of power.

Tanks. They are built for that kind of thing, to roll over anything in their path. You can flip a garbage truck, but its pretty hard to flip a tank.

An abrams m1a1 supertank out weighs any commercial vehicle by several DOZEN TONS.

When in doubt, try it on GTA san Andreas.3

Wikipedia states that the Abrams weighs 69 tons. I thought that was high. But the army link confirms it. That is insanely heavy and way more then i thought it was. That being said it might very well rip through anything on the road if it had enough speed.

Definitely the tank. It's tougher and more bad asss....and the garbage truck, well, it just smells like 'bad asss'.
