You can eat alot of fresh veggies, and grilled food. But make sure you carry Glucose Tabs, and orange juice for that quick burst of sugar, when you are feeling weak. Especially since you are excersing. Good Luck

I've been Hypoglycemic for over 10 years. First off I stopped cold turkey with the soda. That right there helped a ton. Then eating small snacks/meals every couple of hours. When you excercise you burn off so much but it needs to be replaced. Kind of like taking out the trash and getting some new furniture. Fuel yourself with the good stuff and burn off the waist. Eat high in protein also. Like tuna fish straight out of the can. You won't believe how fast you feel full. And most important find someone to follow along with you. Like do a weight in once a week and try to really reach the goal. If you really gave it all you got I mean really have. Then go to a doctor or dietician. Hope I helped at least a little.

This is a tough one. I have the same problem. The problem is most foods that you will need to keep your sugar up keeps turns to fat.
A good way to keep sugar level balanced out is to stay away from juices, soda's, candy. things that make your sugar rise then drop real quick.
Eat smaller meals and more frequently, your body will get the sugar it needs and not feel like it is on a diet. You will actually start losing weight because your body will not think it is starving or being deprived.
I am also hypoglycemic. I eat fruit a lot but stay away from Oranges because they are high in sugar.

I am hypoglycemic to the point that if I did not eat frequent meals I would fell like I was going to pass out. The glucose tolerance test they did on me had to be stopped the 2nd hour because I registered no blood sugar and I felt real bad. I lost 40 lbs on the Sugar Busters diet. I decided to clean out a portion of my refrigerator and a portion of my cabinet for stuff I could eat when I was hungry. They say more frequent meals helps too. With the sugar busters diet, I bought just the shoppers guide which was 3 or 4 dollars. I went to the store I bought the items that were acceptable on the diet and put them in my spaces in the cabinet and the refrigerator. What you like and what I liked may be different...but I would eat eggs, and fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, for snack I could have sugar free pudding or jello, or carb smart fudge bars or some fruit or vegis. For lunch I could have a turkey sandwich on Marble rye with cheese, lettuce, tomatoe and a reasonable amount of mayo. I would sometimes have a salad to go with this with blue cheese dressing and or some steamed broccoli. For dinner I could have some baked chicken, brown rice, vege medley of broccoli, cauliflower, squash. I would try to have dinner by 6:30 and then have an apple or banana for snack. Working out on the treadmill is one of the best for hypoglycemics...but remember that speed and incline is not good. A nice steady slower pace is best.
Slower weight loss is also best if you want to keep it off.

Hi, I also have the same problem and the best thing that you can do, is get a book called GI Diet by Rick Gallop. You can't screw it up it's fail proof. I lost 60 pounds with it. Another one you can try is the 3 hour diet by Jorge Cruise. When you want to eat anything. I have hypothyroid so if it can work for me it can work for you. Good luck. Sincerly K.H.

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at

fruit is healthy for you AND will give you a kick of sugar, as well as 100% fruit juices. Eat grilled or baked chicken as your source of protein (lots of protein with barely any fat). Don't forget to incorporate veggies and some carbs in there too, and drink PLENTY of water!! Water helps boost metabolism. As far as snack ideas, fruit is the best choice, but you could also try Fig Newtons and see how your body reacts to them. Hope this helps :-)

Look I don't want to discourage what you are doing. But my friend tried to loose weight and she is hyperglycemic. It will be harder but not impossible. You need to really watch what you eat. Check with a nutritionist. Because no two cases are the same.

Have you ever tried taking chromium picolonate? I have problems with my blood sugar sometimes too. It was once claimed to burn fat but actually what it does is maintain normal blood sugar levels so your body doesn't hang on to fat as it would if your sugar level was off. It works for me. I get it a walmart. Good Luck.
