I'm helping my fiance with a report of his on this subject, but we can't decide which illness to choose. We need an illness that is:
-fatal
-makes one loose a ton of weight suddenly
-makes one frail
What causes the illness? How is it treated? How much do the treatments cost? If the treatments don't work, how long does it usually take for the person with the illness to die? What age/gender/etc. is the illness most commonly seen? Is it rare?
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Fasfa soda which can be purchased over the counter at your local drug store will help you loose weight, but is NOT fatal...You're SICK!!

AIDS do react the same way too. However, it might also be coronary heart diseases such as cancer.

So, I lived in India for a while and I began losing weight at an extremely rapid pace. I dropped at least 30 pounds within a month. I continued dropping weight and by the time I arrived home 2 months later, I was 90 pounds. We had no idea what was wrong, but after going to a doctor, we found out I contracted a worm. The doctor suspects that I got the worm from the dirt under by fingernails by biting them! UGH! Anyway..It was easy to treat. I actually purchased a herbal cleansing medication that dewormed me! I am not sure how expensive it was, but there are all types and variestis to purchase. Anyone can contract a worm. You just have to be careful about dirt, etc. It is dangerous because certain worms can eventually work their way through yrou blood stream up to your brain and kill you instantly..so it is wise to clease yourself form it asap! Hope it helps!

Diabetes is a disease that can make someone loose weight rapidly. It is fatal if not treated. One will become very weak and loose consciousness. I in the beginning before diagnosis and before getting the right amount of insulin and the right diet one might be frail.

My mom had high level of thyroid problem last year and lost 20 something lbs in 2 months although she ate twice more at the time. The motablism boosts up a lot when you have that disease i guess. the problem was that as soon as she got her treatment, which was just oral medications to get her thyroid back to normal level, she gained those weight back in 1month. and she has to keep taking those pills for at least 1 year. she has kaiser insurance, i guess it's cheap or something, the thyroid specialist did not know anything. it was horrible experience when we went to see her. she gave the wrong meds, and we called her 5 times, she never called back, and we had to contact the family practice doctor to get the attention. anyway, sorry to go off the topic, but just research on thyroid.

How about Ovarian cancer? Not sure if it makes you "frail," but I think that is likely. It is fatal and can cause sudden weight loss. Treatment is surgery and chemotherapy. Obviously gender is women and age is 55 or over (post-menopausal.)
