Relax girl, being 4'11" and 80 pounds is not too skinny. Maybe you just lived around big, heavy people and you comparing yourself with them. Today most people in developed countries are overweight. You're actually the ideal one, not them.
Some girls are born to be skinny, it's in your genes. I bet you have a very small frame. This body type can't put much weight, even if you can, the proportion won't look good because the frame can't support that extra weight.
My suggestion is just keep the healthy way of life and just be proud with your body, unless you have any health problem because of that skinny figure, just keep it. Usually the weight scale up as you get older, so you have a good start because you won't get too heavy by the time you're 40. My mom is 5' and she told me she was only 80 pounds at college and now she is about 100 pounds.

Don`t eat a lot of junkfood as someone suggested. Underweight people can die of heart disease and diabetes as well as a overweight person. You just have a fast metabolism and nothing is wrong with that. You will more than likely never have to worry about gaining weight. Just eat healthy like you have been, and as you become older your body will start to fill out some. Having children sometimes, not that I`m telling you to have a baby yet, but that will put on a few pounds. Enjoy it while you can. I weighed 86 pounds and was 4'11'' when I was 16 also. Now I am overweight because of steroid use from a bone disease.

There is always a possibility something is wrong with anyone but it may be that you are just a naturally thin person. We are called Ectomorphs (see link below). Even at 30 I can eat pretty much however I want and I'm still a size 6. The only ways I found that I would gain weight was: getting older, eating well-rounded meals representing the food groups, whole milk, and exercise.

People will tell you to not exercise because you are already so thin. Being thin is no indication of being healthy and vice versa. Try to be healthy first. I couldn't change my weight for years no matter how hard I tried. Being healthy is what I have found is most important, being a cancer survivor whose weight was downright scary during that time. Trust me. Be healthy and love yourself. Those are the best things you can do.

At 7 or 8 inches taller than you and 112 pounds i enlisted in the navy. Don't be in any big rush to put on weight. You need to let your body grow, both in height and weight, at its own rate. At present I'm 5'9 and weigh 180. If you gain too quickly your body doesn't have time to adjust to your new weight which can lead to injuries and mobility problems. At 37 yrs old I'm currently the biggest and strongest I've ever been. Let nature take its course and of course eat right and exercise. Good luck, and may you have a long and happy life.

You would have to see a doctor to find out if anything is wrong. in the meantime write down everything you eat on a daily basis. Take a look at it and realize that this is what you need to eat to maintain your weight.

To increase your weight, you must increase your caloric intake. So eat what you normally do every day, and then add a health shake or a few healthy snacks on top of your normal daily intake.

It will take time, but it will work.

I know exactley how u feel! Girl, there tons of info out there on how to LOSE weight...so wheres the weight GAIN pill! Try ensure Plus. It is like the opposite of ultra slimfast. I mean it worked for me- when I could afford it; theyre expensive! Eat foods with the most protiens in it. Also Carbs stay in the body longest and turns into bodt tissue. If you want more muscle than fat, try lifting weight
although youre probly like me and that wouldnt work cuz I couldnt lift a feather!
Sorry to say but if its heredity, you can eat anything ya want and your metabolism will just speed up to burn it off!

If you're otherwise healthy, count your blessings. See a doctor and have a checkup, ask about your weight. Some people just don't gain weight so easily. My mother was always slender. Really skinny when she was young. Took after her father. Probably a metabolic thing rather than something "wrong". I think petite girls are intriguing.

eat carbohydrates and foods with lots of calories. you should eat three good sized meals a day as well as plenty of snacks in between. emphasize on high calories!! don't work the weight off...i mean, you should go out and excercise the next day. what you want to do is put on weight then work it off in a healthy way. this is probably going to take a lot of discipline to make sure you eat as much as necessary (especially if you don't normally eat alot) and do proper excersice regularly, so good luck. i dunno what your daily caloric intake is, but find that out then boost it up a bit. talk to your doctor so you make sure you're doing this as safely and healthily as possible and to ensure good results. i hope this helps. good luck again!
