One of my very best friends, who happens to be a guy, came over today. Then right before he left, he gave me a kiss, which he did many times before, except this time it was on the lips. I don't view him as anything more than a best friend and I want him to know that. How do I tell him?

I have had the same situation happen to me. My very bestest friend in the world is a guy. He wanted to persue a relationship and i just flat out told him that i value his friendship too much to lose it if anything were to happen to us. I would rather have him as a friend for life than a fleeting relationship that didnt work. Friendship is forever. We are still the bestest of friends and talk everyday and see each other at least once a month

Address it SOON before the situation esalates, just the next time you see/talk to him just put it right out there. Say hey last time you left you planted one on my lips, andso you know I think of you as a friend, nothing more. And then maybe turn it lighter by saying besides, friends are better anyway....but deal with it fast. Before it festers.

Just be honest... It hurts a lot less.
Not any of those..I love you just like a brother lines.
Or..if only i met you first..
If this was just a different time...
Just be honest. Then you can stay friends.

It doesn't seem to occur to women very often, but you could try being honest.

Don't try to be "nice", or to dress it up as something else.

Just tell him you don't like him.
