How do you know if he's the one you wanna be with the rest of your life?

You don't know until at least 3 years living with someone. And kids can reveal things about your "partner" that you never would have imagined.

I don't know! I thought I did when I was 24 but 23 yrs & 2 kids later I found out I was wrong!! Boy oh boy was I wrong, after 23 yrs~other than our daughters~I have absolutely nothing to speak of from the marriage.
I want to say that if you have any doubts what-so-ever don't marry him or whatever. Yet I have known people that did have a few doubts but went ahead w/the marriage and are still very happy. And I have also known people that had no doubts yet are divorced now!
It's one of the biggest risks you will ever take!! And it can have many heartbreaking consequences or can be the biggest joy of your life!

Yes, you do need more than love. I've loved other men before I fell in love with my husband, but even some of the men I loved I knew I didn't want to be with the REST of my life. You need to spend time talking to him about your dreams for the future. Find out what his dreams are. Are your dreams compatible? Do you both want kids? Do you want to stay and live in the same area? You need to take the time to really REALLY get to know each other. Even the little things turn out to mean an awful lot when you're living with someone day in and day out. I dated my husband for three years before we got engaged, and it was 4 years when we got married. We knew each other as well as any two people could get to know each other. We also DIDN'T live together until about 3 months before our wedding. After a while, we just felt that it didn't make sense for us to need to say "Goodbye" at the end of any day. We wanted to be together.

Fourth - as long as you are in the Q & A mood, be sure you have covered the other essential Q like: # of children/how soon. Who works outside the home? Who handles checkbook/investments?
Nature/limits of sexual relationship/inlaws. How much debt is each bringing into the game? Prefered place of residence.
