My boyfriend, and father of my 1 yr old recently had a fight . he won't give up his 'right" to have his "single" girl relationships that don't include me, yet he wants to be with me and talk about living together. Ithis fight happened just after his b-day and just 2 dayz b4 mine. I have alwayz given him nice and thoughtful gifts ,even if I was mad at him, cuz that is how I am, a thoughtful and caring person. Well..we were not "cool" on my birthday and I ended up spending it alone. He came to pick up our daughter that day and mumbled happy b-day, but he didn't give me a card or a gift or a ****. I am deeply hurt and he couldn't have made the message any clearer that he doesn't give a ****. I don't understand. I don't want him to keep and enjoy the gifts I gave him. Doesn't seem fair. he keeps returning odds and ends to me in paper bags. I just want to tell him to bring back his presents too. but I don't want to be spiteful. I'm hurt, what do ya'll thnik? we been 2gether 3 yrs

He is a jerk and he knows how to make you suffer.
Forget about the gifts. You gave them to him, and that was it. The greatest present he gave you, aside from your darling daughter, is the opportunity to understand what not to look for in a guy.
Respect yourself and move on.

I just had a 4 month relationship end 3 days ago. Guess what...3 days ago was my birthday. He cheated on me and didn't even greet me a happy birthday. I called him up to break-up and only then did he greet me. I've also given him gifts and stuff (he hadn't even once gave me something) but I guess that I should not and you should not ask for the gifts back:
1. you gave them to him because you were caring and thoughtful, don't go down to his level by taking those gifts back.
2. it's just not nice to take back gifts. For me, at least I could say that I wasn't the one lacking the care in the relationship
3. Maybe he'll be guilty when he sees your gifts... or maybe not? But at least he'll think about you when he sees the gifts.

To me I don't think you should. I mean you call them a gift for a reason. When you give something to a person its theirs now, and you shouldn't take it back because that's quite rude. I mean if someone gave you a nice expensive ring for your birthday and then something happened and they want to have it back, I'm sure you wouldn't like it either, because afterall it was a gift.

that's pretty lame, how just tell him if he wants to return you're stuff to you, he better do it all at once, to save hurting you by rubbing that he wants nothing to do with you in your face.
I'd say just tell him to give you back the presents that you gave to him, because if he wants to give back "the relationship", he better give all it back, not keep the stuff he wants..... It seems like he gives the **** that he don't want back to you, from you, like you're a garbage can.
Dude, i don't know what I'm talking about, so there you go, there's my answer, whether you like it or not.

WOW why no longer purely pop out and ask for chilly no longer hassle-free money!?!?! My opinion is the comparable as yours - incorrect AND rude! 2nd graders desire to open supplies- ever observe how enjoying cards get shoved aside? Birthdays are uncontrolled anymore with teenagers. too lots too quickly for little ones- over stimulating and the expectancies are little extra effective than a contest between immature mothers and fathers.

This man wants his cake and eat it too. Forget about the gifts and keep the relationship of a friends only basis for the sake of your child.

No, let him keep the gifts. It's over. I know that it's tempting to ask for them back. But I think that will start another argument. Just don't get him nothing else.

Wise up and realize this guy is a loser, just like Kevin F.
Try and figure out why you are breeding with losers and stop.
