Has anyone ever heard of Norco 10mg/325mg tabs. I know it is hydrocodone, But what I want to know is if I can also take ibuprofen in between doses. I have severe lower back pain, I think it is my sciatica acting up again. Any info will be appreciated.

I don't want to go to the emergency room because all they will do is give me a pain shot and tell me to go home and rest, since I already know this why should I waste my money.

Okay, I am a nurse and am also in pain management due to cancer. Norco 10/325 is exactly what I take. It is the new Lortab. The 325 is the amount of acetaminophen in with the 10 milligrams of codeine. They lowered the amount of acetaminophen from 500 because of the problems that it causes on the liver. Yes, you can take ibuprofen in between. You can take up to 800mgs every 6 hours. Just watch your stomach and I wouldn't suggest you take both continuously, just when you are really hurting. The ibuprofen will probably help more than the Lortab. Hope you feel better soon.

Registered Nurse here; Yes ibuprofen is fine to take in between dosages of Norco. That is if your stomach and digestive tract can take Ibuprofen for it's pretty hard on the gut. Ibuprofen has no Tylenol in it. Norco 10mg has 325 mg of Tylenol or acetaminophen. You want to make sure you don't take any-ting in between doses of Norco that contains Tylenol.

I have acute sciatica, this is what I do. Take your Norco as prescribed but also take 300mg of ibuprofen every 4 hours, no more, no less. You might have to cut one of your ibuprofens in half. Hope this works for you. I have suffered with sciatica for three years now and this worked best for me.

10mg vicoden/325mg acetametophen, obviously your dr gave you this for pain, now i am not a dr or a pharmacist, but i work at a pharmacy and see doses/interactions all day. the ibuprofen/advil will help with inflammation / swelling with your condition, although i would have a consult with your physician before adding any medicine to your daily regimine, ibuprofen SHOULDN'T interact with that med BUT it also depends on anything else your taking daily or as needed. if your going to take it, consult your dr and/or start with a small dose (200 or 400mg), see how that works but it dosen't sound like your going to need a frequent dose of 800mg

Yes, u can take ibuprofen between doses. Do not take any extra tylenol, though. The 325 is the amount of tylenol that is in the norco.

^^yeah, what they all said =P

sorry I was late to the punch... but anyways even though ibuprofen and acetaminophen aren't the same you're still putting your liver through some sh!t. Although some people do have to take both continuously, it should be avoided. Anything else you could do to subsitute these meds (like a hot bottle or perhaps slight stretching)--- although not quite as numbing-- would be better for your body.

I think I would just take more ibuprofin if it doesn;t hort your stomach. Motrin is 800 mg and i think you can have 3 per day.
Ii think hydrocodone is a narcotic and you are in it for the long haul.
Tylenol isn't an anti inflamitory ibuprofin is. take ibuprofin regular it slows down inflamation that causes pain

YES...you can take those meds together. I have taken the same exact meds together for osteoarthritis in my jaw joint....worked great for about a year then stopped working as my body got used to it I guess.... now I got better stuff LOL
Seriously though.....Just try and eat something before you take the ibprophen just to get something in your belly...even a few crackers would work.
