Use a smoothing serum-I like Victoria's secret smoothing shine serum. Put a little in your hand and rub into hair. And then straighten your hair and hair spray just a little.

Pureology NanoGlaze reduces drying time by a third--but it's not cheap, so go easy on it, you don't need a lot. Also, if you just blast dry your hair about 80% of the way before sectioning it off and using a flat brush, it doesn't take nearly as long, and you can still manipulate it to get it to stay straight. FYI, if you put a little bend into the end of your hair, it's very flattering, and it gives you a little wiggle room so you don't have to get it quite so stick-straight.

buy a Fabrouk Chi flat iron. Costs $100 and up at beauty stores but you can get one on ebay for $75. It is THE flat iron that hair stylists use. My hair is thick and always dried bushy and wavy. Takes me under 5 mins to straighten it. For me blow drying just makes my hair frizzier, takes long, and makes my arms sore. I've owned those metal brushes that roll to simulate pulling of your hair with a hairbrush while blow drying but they don't work and also other flat irons that I didn't realize just weren't hot enough.

While your hair is damp, apply an oil-based serum to the roots. Brush your hair while you blow dry it. If you have to, seperate your hair in sections so it's easier. Then use a straightening/flat iron to finish the job. Good luck & have fun!

If you wash your hair then you blow dry it it will be some what straight. Then you just touch it up with a straightener. That's how i do mine and it only takes 10 min to blow dry it and 10 min to straighten, and my hair is really long. Maybe you want even less time then that.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
