I don't think I'd rely on us to answer. Call your pharmacy, or DR or if they aren't available you should have a "ask a nurse' type program or your insurance should have something of that nature.

I am not a medical professional. I have been prescribed Vicodin ES and Restoril 15mg for migraines. I try not to take the Restoril unless it has been at least 6 hours since I took the Vicodin.
Please....Check with your doctor...not those of us on the net.

Restoril is for sleep and vicodin is for pain. U don't say how either of these meds affects ur mother. Does the vicodin cause drowsiness? If so, she might want to take just 15mg of restoril instead of 30. Or take the vicodin an hour or 2 be4 the restoril. By the wat, they can be taken together.

Vicodin is a pain medication while Restoril is a sleep aide. They work on different metabolic levels and are safe to take together. She should follow the directions given to her by her physician as to how she should take these medications. Otherwise, consult with her physician first. There may be other medications that she is taking or other concerns her physician has and may not want her to take one or the other medication.

I would not trust anyone I didn't know on-line to answer such an important question. My son always questions every medicine he is prescribed and asks the pharmacist at the time of purchase, but if he forgets to ask about any possible interaction he calls the pharmacist and asks just to make sure. If our pharmacy is busy he calls another one. You would say: If I'm taking 30mg of restoril is it safe to take vicodin with it? Web site searching didn't list any drug interactions, but again a pharmacist would know best.

Yes she can. However, they both have an effect of depressing breathing.
The restoril dose sounds a little high to me. We would only use 10-20mg of Temazepam in Australia. You haven't posted the dose of Vicodin that your mother takes.
However, both drugs work on different systems of the body - vicodin on pain receptors (opiate receptors) and the restoril on the brains GABA receptors (inhibitory receptors to induce relaxation).
High doses of both drugs can cause depression of breathing, alone or in combination.
For a more specific answer your mother should consult her own doctor.

"It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Vicodin with ... central nervous system depressants such as Halcion and Restoril"
http://www.healthsquare.com/rx/vicodin.htm
You can read what other people have said about these two drugs, by looking at internet forums like medhelp.org and askapatient.com and rxlist.com. Check out these search results from a health forums search engine:
