In a word: No. It's not. In the bible, many things are dealt with as being good or bad. Masturbation is not one of them. It's neither good nor bad, or at least never addressed as such. Too much masturbation is harmful, as it keeps people from doing more productive things. Therefore, too much masturbation is probably a sin. However, you should not feel bad about masturbating once in a while. God doesn't care about such trivial matters.
As for stopping it, there's no reason that you should unless you're doing it too much. In that case, you should speak with a counselor or liscensed social worker.

Nowhere is masturbation called a sin in the Bible, Even Onan refers to refusal to sire a chi;d by the widow of your brother, not masturbation. People who don't seem to have much of a life prefer to obsess about the sexuality of others, not limited to Christianity.

I don't think it is a sin at all. If it were a sin and If God didn't want us to do it, Wouldn't he of put it in the 10 commandments? Or mention it in the bible? And that Onan story is a WHOLE DIFFERENT story! God didn't kill him for masturbating.
The only way it could be a sin if you lusted or fantasized while masturbating.
Enjoy Yourself, Woman! ;)

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."
Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.
Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.
With love in Christ.

Yes, it is a sin because sexual activity is supposed to be between a man and a woman only. But no sin is unforgivable except rejecting Jesus Christ as your Savior without repenting before you die. So ask Jesus to forgive you and then do what St. Paul says--look forward, keep running the race. Read God's Word everyday in order to believe in Jesus Christ and strengthen your faith. And keep busy. Learn to bake bread, cookies, cake, etc. Learn to cook. Garden in the yard. Do woodworking. Take walks and pray. Jesus loves you and died for all your sins. He took them away as far as the East is from the West. Don't live in them any longer. Sure, you will stumble, but get back in the race full steam ahead. King David deliberately sinned, Nathan the prophet was God's tool to bring him back to repentance, and King David got back in the race and became a man after God's own heart. Moses murdered a man yet he is in heaven now because he looked ahead to the Messiah/the Christ/the Annointed One and was forgiven. St. Paul persecuted Christians yet Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus and he was baptized shortly after that. We need to be forgiven everyday. We need to go to church every week in order to hear that forgiveness spoken into our ears. Put "confessional Lutheran" into a search engine and you should be able to find a list of good churches where you can find healing and comfort for your soul and strength for the weeks ahead.

Masterbation for either gender is NOT a sin...
The Creator gave you the gift of human sexuality...the gift of sexual gratification...
The Creator built a strong sex drive into every creature, no matter what style of sexual gratification it practiced, He made sex irrestibly pleasurable, wildly joyous, free from stigman and fears...he made it innocent merriment...
MAN made sex dirty and sinful.

Sin is sin in God's eyes no matter what. Humans are the one's who decided which one's were worst. God never addresses masturbation, only lusting after a person in your heart is just like doing it with them in real life. So my advice is if you like to masturbate, do it for your own relief and leave fantasy out of it.

You can stop and habit you want with the power of God. If you are sincere and pray to Him, And learn His ways, He will give you the power to overcome anything.

No. It's an acceptable expression of an uncontrollable sexual desire. Just make sure it doesn't get out of control. And don't resort to sex.

I know masturbation (male or female) is a good way to keep neuroses away. So, what do you want neuroses or being a sinner? Mind you, just because they don't say it, doesn't mean other people don't do it...
