I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.
GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that
http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...
This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.
I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.
The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.
My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.
The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth.

What you are doing now is good, stick to it! Also try these, weekly once give your scalp a hot oil massage. Take some coconut oil ( amount for a liberal application of oil) in a saucepan, when it is hot throw in some fenugreek seeds, when it turns light brown remove from fire. When it is warm apply oil to the scalp and massage, when you apply oil you should feel the warmth of the oil. Leave it for 1 hour then shampoo.
When sleeping in the night do not use a pillow lie flat, this will increase blood circulation and also induce good sleep. YOu can get back to the pillow any time of the night later. Oil your hair in the roots lightly everyday.

There are various types of massaging techniques, which can be followed. Indonesian style is best suited for relieving mental tension and improving the quality of the hair. The massaging steps are given below in detail:
1) Stand with your feet apart and start breathing in and out
2) Bend from the waist till the level of your head falls below the waist area.
3) Bring your feet close to each other and start rubbing your scalp with your knuckles all over your head for about half a minute.
4) Slowly start bringing your body to the normal level and continue rubbing on the scalp.
Be careful that when you are massaging your scalp, do not massage roughly. The hair fibers may split causing you pain and damage to the hair. So massage gently and thoroughly.

I'm not sure about any vitamins, but, if you bring stimulation to your roots your hair will grow faster. ie- massaging your head. Wearing your hair in a pony tail also causes your hair to grow faster because of the pulling.
Good luck!<3

Some people will tell you to cut your hair to make your hair grow faster. It doesn't work. it's just a myth that came from men's facial hair growing quickly. it's called puberty! hello? anyways, i suggest Hair Skin and Nails formula. It is around 13.00
