Can't be done! In fact, living there may jeopardize your ability to converse in English. This is the reason most New Yorkers rarely cross the Hudson unless there's a good concert over there.

Just kidding! There are the Berlitz schools all over NJ - not to mention more colleges & language schools than you can shake an obi at.

Go to your local Borders and buy yourself a Pimsluer language set and a phrase book. When you get the jist of it enough to elaborate, you can teach yourself the rest once you understand HOW things are said in Japan. That really is more important than the actual words believe it or not. They have a very specific way of speaking.
