Illness usually has a name: bronchitis, appendicitis, flu, whereas disease can be just not healthy, but not so ill you go to the doctor. Like dis-appear equals not appear , so dis-ease equals not at ease, or not healthy. How's that for an answer? But then diseases are named as well: tuberculosis, what have you. Oh well

Illnesses can be cured quicker than diseases. Diseases stay with a person for longer...maybe forever.

dis + ease = not comfortable
ill + ness = bad always
when u analyze the words, they are both in a negative condition but in certain degree. illness is bearable, disease is somewhat serious to the extent that when you add 'd' on the last letter, it would mean 'death'

A DISEASE IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE FOREVER. SOMETHING THAT HAS NO CURE. AN ILLNESS IS SOMETHING THAT IS TEMPORARY. THAT CAN BE CURED.
