I'm about to get promoted and that means I'll get paid a little bit more, will it effect my Federal Aid for college this year or in the future?

If it is a small raise, it might slightly effect it, but if it is in the thousands of dollars it could. However, with the raise coming late in the calendar tax return year, it might not be as much of an influence since the FAFSA for the 2007-2008 year is based on your 2006 income tax return. By the way, congratulations on your recent promotion!

Grants are given based on last years income tax return..your raise will ONLY affect future aid

Yes it does affect it. But it is calcuated in ranges, so you still might be in the same range even with a promotion. The only way way to be certain is when you apply next year. It won't affect your aid this year if you don't go and tell FInancial Aid about it. Congrads btw.
