luckily it sounds like you have a situational depression which is better than the full blown mental illness.

it sucks anyway to be depressed and homesick, but you should be getting yourself involved in as many activities and groups as you can stand. this will help alleviate some of your loneliness and maybe ease your depression problem.

keep communication open with home as much as you can afford it~i know it can be expensive, but try and make new friends here to pass the time~then when you go home, you might get a little bit depressed because you miss here.

at least you aren't stuck with the lifelong condition that some people have to take medication for and fight with~ even though i know right now it probably doesn't seem like there is any difference right now.

chin up, be proud that you are doing something with your life that will pay off in the future. give yourself a pat on the back and know that this is only a temporary situation.

Where is here, the US? If so, what's wrong with being here, it is a great country with lots to offer. I suggest you stop feeling sorry for yourself and get out and see the sights, make some friends, and study hard. Three months is a short time and it will go fast. When you get older you will regret not being more mature and taking advantage of a wonderful opportunity. When I was your age, I would've given anything to travel and see new places.

Being in a foreign country is very stressful. Is your host family aware that you are homesick? Are you able to talk to someone in this country that understands your country as well? I am living in a foreign country now for many years and at l;ast I understand the way people do things.
Maybe a teacher could help you with the things that are confusing. . . like shopping and how to eat the odd foods and such.
You can do this, I know you can. it is a rare and rich opportunity to be in a place where you are challenged. You will be glad that yuo did this exchange schooling. Our family has hosted exchange students and we have been blessed with the intersting things that hve happened. Talk to a grown up please.

Hi - I wanted to answer your question because I'm feeling pretty low myself, and I live here. Seeing you have taken so much effort to be in this country, you should hang on and bear with it. You should be proud of yourself for going to such great lengths to educate your self. Advance your mind ahead to when you are say - 40 and think back. If you cut and run/will you regret it when you are your future self? As for me, I lost my dear mother in 2001, and it is coming to that time of year again. Nothing can change that. Try to cheer up, look at the big picture.

Proffesionally, I would recommend you to take a visit to a local doctor in your county/city/etc. Don't be sad, just do fun things in your life, do a favorite sport/hobby, watch a good movie(Not a bad one), hang around with your personally favorite friends, and reassure yourself away from negativity. If you're currently being perscribed anti-depressants, continue using them until thus subscribed date is finalized.

What you need, my friend, is a hug. So even though we may never meet in this lifetime, i send you a hug, and wish you good luck in your travels.
