what about the french 100 year war? what about England and France, What about Germany WW1 and WW11, what about Japan WW11? China? these countries are far more bloody than the US as we haven't existed as long as they have..
Remember WW1 and WW11 were both started by Germany. Japan bombed the US in WW11.. pearl harbor, but oh yeah, we aren't allowed to defend our selves, just France and England and the rest of Europe.

War, sadly, is a condition apparently inherent to Mankind. Of course I disagree with the whole War Mechanism Bush and Rumsfeld (he's out, yay!) have got together to justify their lack of diplomacy towards the Big Oil Urge. Still I don't think the United States of America, as a Nation (and really, an admirable one at that) loves creating war.
Civil war is something every nation has faced now and then; WW ein und zwei, more like creating, I think it was seizing; anticommunism... well, that's kind of natural between two opposite economic positions.
Wars are of economic nature, invariably. For what it's worth, ideals mask them as something joust, as in WWII, which I think was the closest to a 'Battle Between Good and Evil' we've seen. And a perfect excuse to play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, watch the Indiana Jones Saga and read Mike Mignola's Hellboy.

as patton said wars are not won by people dieing for their country, they win it by making the other dumb bastards die for their country.

As you may have learned by now from the other answers you have received, your question is absurd and uneducated.
Like Pearl Harbor, we were attacked on 911.
This time, our enemy was not a country but rather a network of terror groups.
The United States and it's allies will never back down and yes, the brave and proud will die for the freedom we love and cherish. And for you to question our soldiers is treachery and a crime.
God Bless America.

You act like we went in there for no reason at all and started something. I think you need to read up on your history. The Americans usually got involved to protect people, after we were attacked, and to aid another country. I really hope you're not a school teacher. I wouldn't want my child learning that the US provoked all the wars!

I don't remember being taught to be motiviated to want war at all.
All countries have lots of war. For example those world wars you mentioned also encompassed, hmmm, oh yeah THE WORLD.
Somethings are worth fighting for. Maybe not Iraq, but somethings are.

Yes it is sad that it is glorified as there is no glory in it. It screws peoples lives up forever, though I was glad to see yesterday they found the link to Agent Orange and Vietnam. Only took them 40 years!
"Wars can be prevented just as surely as they can be provoked.... and we who fail to prevent them must share the guilt for the dead!"

Piranah, you are the uneducated and misinformed one! It is obvious you have never been to war, and I don't care what others say, for I have been!!
Well base, I can agree with you with most wars! Many wars were over resources: Not freedom! And many during my time did not want to go to war and come home in a body bag as they were drafted! I am not sure he is refering to us starting them, but to those that do! I am totally agains't Iraq! I have never seen such a total mess in my life and it is about a hairs length of being a total failure!
PS: What does it take for you to assimilate that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or terrorists!! That is a FACT!!!!

Maybe you ought to read up on your history rather than just blatanly and ignorantly make a foolish comment like that.
Or your other option is to leave. I mean seriously, if you don't like the strong patriotism here, you can go to France. They're pussified enough for your type
