Would I still be a quarter or would my parents have contributed 2 quarters that make up a half?

You'd be half... I had trouble explaining to a black girl once that she wasn't 200% percent black.

Your mother is 1/2, your father is 1/2
You get 1/2 from both of your parents
so 1/2 of 1/2 is 1/4. so you get 1/4 from mom, 1/4 from dad and get 2/4 :) 1/2. yea

You are also half German.
As 1/2+1/2=1 or 1/2=0.5

You are Half German. The two quarters make a half.
(If Only one parent were half German then it would make you a quarter German.)

you would be 1/2 german.
If your mom was 1/2 and your father had no german or visa versa, then you would only be 1/4 german.
