A dark stool can mean blood and that is a concern. I don't care how you look at that it can be bad. If you only have had two bowel movements that were black and that is the end of it it could be something you ate. Beats can cause a stool problem that will make you think you have a problem. You need to see a doctor and soon if this persist. He should give you a smear test. Depending on the results of the test he my want you to have a coalinoscopy (sorry about the spelling). In any case you should see your doctor. Your health is most important...Best of luck...

Most likely it is from what you have eaten. Have you had any Pepto Bismol, that will turn a stool jet black for a couple of days. If you are really concerned then a Fecal Occult blood test can be done. This is were you restrict your diet of vitamin C, red meat, any red foods and maybe more for a couple of days. Then you can get the test kit, and rub some stool on a special spot on the test card. The card is sent to a lab and treated with a chemical and this will determine if the stool contains blood. this procedure can also be done at a medical clinic. But the key is to make sure you follow the diet restrictions prior to the test for accurate results.

If you have eaten something with a high concentration of iron that could cause a dark stool.
However, you could have a bleeding ulcer. If the problem persist for another 24 hours - go to a doctor!!!!

Could be...could be old blood in the stool or if you've eaten something not your norm, or taking a new medication (for example) that could cause it...
Surf over to WebMD and do some research and see if anything there may help you out...if you can't come up with a reason for it, then you should probably call your doc and see what s/he says...

That depends. R u taking any supplements like iron or vitamins with iron in them? Iron tends to make stools dark. U should go to ur dr and get checked to be sure there is no hidden blood in ur stool.
