Go up to him and ask him non chalantly, "you have someone to go to the dance with?" If he says no, tell him the truth, "Oh that's great, because I desperately want to go with you and I purposely waited until I had a chance to ask you and now I want to tell you, that you're the only one I would ever consider going to the dance with and maybe after wards we can date, get married and have kids!"

Your best bet is to be honest and straight with him. Ask him out right, keep it simple and to the point. The worst thing that could happen is he could say no, but on the other hand he may say yes. You are not going to find out if you don't ask.

Be direct. Just tell him that you want to go to the dance and you would like him to go with you as your date.

I am married and I wouldn't have been if it weren't for me asking him out. Okay, my friends helped and you could get your's to help to but you, ultimately, have to be the one to ask.

maybe you can ask your teacher to ask him if he's going with anyone,if not then make your teacher ask him well what about (whatever your name is) and make her say some other girls (that are ugly) names. He'll be sure to think about asking you.
