My cat has been acting funny the last couple of days, she seem to have a problem with the back end of her and she lays on her belly with her back legs up meowing, she is only 8-9 months old, she was like that once before but then was fine, she seems really connected with us at the minute, i.e: She loves cuddles and craves attention at night time.. is there something wrong with her? I will take her to the vet monday, but i am worried now and is nothing i can do now, any help or advice appreciated.
Dean
ps: She is an indoor cat and has not been hit by a car or anything like that, she never goes outside.

Oh Heat? I had never heard of this before, It's all new to me, Thank God shes ok though, Amazing how much you fall in love with a cat after a few days! It's quite embarressing actually, It makes sense now but as I said I didn't know - And no she hasn't been "fixed" that we know of, But we will still take her to the vets monday, Thanks for your time and answers! much appreciated :) Dean

I am quit sure you mean she lays on her belly with her back leg BACK - like a rabbit? and meows - she's in Heat - rub her back, over her hind legs and if she arches her back, or rolls over, and wants more, and purrs and meows, she's in heat - get her fixed - this happens more frequently as she gets older, about 4-times a year. I am pretty sure that I am correct.

You didn't mention whether or not she's been fixed. If she has not been fixed then chances are she's in heat. There is nothing wrong with her. Unless you want kittens, I would keep male cats away from her. She is going to be like that from time to time until you get her fixed. My cats would not quit meowing when they were in heat. At night I had to lock them up in the shed out back just so I could get some sleep. Life was much nicer for me and the cats once I got them fixed. I hope this helps you.

She might be having an allergy to something. My dad's cat is allergic to baking soda (can't have regular litter), dust and who knows what all else. She goes absolutely crazy when she's having an attack, meowing piteously, jumping on everyone, rubbing against everything when normally she's fairly antisocial. My mom gives her like a quarter to half tablet of Benedril to stop the reaction, which makes her foam at the mouth, but it's the only thing that helps her. My former father in-law had a cat that was allergic to his cigarette smoke, and she'd go crazy every time he'd light up, and he'd insist that she was perpetually in heat because he refused to believe that cats get allergies, but actually, cats can have any allergy a human can, and it's fairly common.

DEFINITELY in heat! It's the right time; it's happened before then she was fine! She is fine - do not worry. She will continue to drive you crazy, though, until you have her spayed. Contrary to some information out there, there is NOTHING that you can do to bring an end to it. The vet may want to wait until she's out of heat to spay her, but definitely do it! Even though she doesn't go outside (yeah, for you! Mine are all strictly inside, too!), it's healthier for her, and she will probably stop driving you nuts!

If you haven't had her spayed, she's in heat. Since you're taking her to the vet, schedule a time when he can do the spay. Save yourself and the cat a lot of anguish in the future.

she may be in heat,if she keeps her tush high in the air.
but if she acting like its an injury, she may have twisted a muscle, kitten are more rambunctious.
or she may have slept on it wrong and jarred a nerve.
there are chiropractics for cats she just may need to have her spine aligned.
