You can't the trannies are sealed, the fluid isn't supposed to be changed until about 100k. look in your owner's manual, you'll see what I'm talking about. There is no dipstick for the tranny fluid.

Manual transmissions do not i repeat DO NOT have a dipstick. There is a plug on the transmission its self and im not sure exactly where it is but when you open it, the fluid should be level with the bottom of the threads. I belive that the plug is on the front. You should be able to stick your finger in and feel the fluid with out curling it down, or a little bit should trickle out when you remove the plug. I suggest taking it to a transmission shop if your are going to do this and what ever you do DO NOT take it to a jiffy lube or anything similar, they use air guns and tend to mess up the plugs when they take them out and put them back in. Its just a plug its not holding the whole car together. Remeber that if you do it yourself.
Good luck, also your fluid should be changed every 15,000 miles or so. Thats what we recomend at the shop i work at.

But Yes your supposed to Check it every 30k
There is a plug on the frt side of the tranny about 1/2 way up w/ @ a 5/8 hex or a 3/8 socket.
You should be able to touch the oil with your finger.

There should be a dipstick under the hood. Usually transmission dipsticks are close to the firewall and are quite long.
Hope this helps.
