If I make a book and part of it says that if you have sex with anything other than cheese you are sinning and will burn in hell and say that the book is the word of God, that makes it true right?

There's two things to consider here. First and most importantly is that only a handful of Christian denominations are scriptural literalists - and they certainly do NOT represent the majority of Christian thinking. This is why we have a fair sprinkling of outstanding religious scientists in, of all places, evolutionary research and associated fields.
Secondly, the clergy in the larger Christian denominations are not cloistered fanatics. A Catholic or Anglican priest can more than hold his own on anthropological issues such as culturally-defined morality with any agnostic or atheist.

My point is that we should not let the shrill voices of fundamentalism mislead us into thinking Christianity has become a lobotomized herd citing Chairman Robertson's Little Red Bible. I am a non-believer, but by and large the Christians around me have no problem at all with either evolution or the fact that morality seems to be a human product that cuts across all religious lines. (And yes, we should take on the fanatics at each and every turn.)

Your book, were you able to find people dumb and misguided enough to be your followers, would probably found a religion like Mormonism, because Joseph Smith basically did just that, except he talked about Jesus coming to the New World and meeting indians and stuff and not so much about cheese. He pretty much wrote the book of mormon and claimed it was from God and that it was supposed to be part of the Bible- it's written in Elizabethan English, he lived in the 1800's, the Bible was written in Hebrew...??? However, the answer to your question lies in the very book you are questioning. It is the original word and there is proof in it- such as prophecies that came true-who would know that but God?

While the Bible may not be the oldest book in terms of when the oldest stories in it were written it contains the oldest historical accounts of any writings. Evolutionists bring many unsupportable presuppositions to their theories and dating methods, the Bible claims to have an account by the people who were actually around when life was first introduced to this planet. As to questions about sex and morality, just like your question about the authority of the Bible, it all goes back to whether or not you believe that the Scriptures are the inspired writings given to men by a supernatural being who exists outside of time and space who has created mankind. If they are then that establishes their authority. I'm not going to try and convince you of that because you have to decide on your own. I will say that there are many convincing proofs as to the supernatural origin and preservation of the writings found in the Bible. The bible is in no way authoratative. It is a highly dubious document compiled from many authours over several hundred years and is self contradictory and very unreliable as any guide to morality or even history. Evolution is a scientifically proven reality that can actually be witnessed happening in real time (in the case of fast evolving bacteria for example) and has numerous peer reviewed documents to back it up. Morality can be shown to be an evolved aspect of human behaiour ( see Dawkins " The God Delusion") where as the bible is quite troubling as a source of 'morality'. Take judges 19:23-4 and the story of a levite in gibeah where the bible recounts a tale of misoginy and gang rape no less (look it up, its there I assure you) - nt my kind of moral behaviour and I'm sure not yours either.
Evolution is a fact and I urge you to read any scientific book on the subject to understand this reality. Richard Dawkins is a good place to start.

All varieties of morality between people are finally meant to help the human species proceed to exist. It must be sparkling that no team of social animals can tolerate ordinary robbery, homicide and so on. considering people can easily think of and think of, it particularly is obvious to those that use their brains that there are a number of different behaviours that are actually not any good to the team. it is the source of all morality and fairly much all regulation, the undeniable fact that a number of it have been given written down in religious books does no longer make it god-given, some type of it exists in all societies which is composed of animal societies. the justifications it particularly is written down in books like the Bible are particularly user-friendly - it does no longer take a fabulous style of intelligence to artwork maximum of those issues out even though it does take some. There are some who do no longer very own somewhat adequate intelligence to do it and must be recommended what they could and can't do. some ought to have the intelligence, yet in no way easily do the thinking, so they must be recommended to boot. people who wrote the Bible disliked or have been fearful via homosexuality (i'm none to prepared on the belief myself yet - - - ) so they wrote it interior the e book. people who can't or do no longer think of can't see previous the lack of expertise and prejudice of a few historic clergymen.

I guess since the bible has been around for so long, and some people believe that it is 'inspired by god', that it makes it true. However, I know what you mean. I'd like to pretend I found a book made years ago and start following it, based on faith.

Another thing I find amusing, is the use of Olde English in 'church' today, as if that is More Holy..hehe Thee and Thou... I don't think they talked like that, back in 'the day'..hehe

The Bible is the manufacturers handbook if you will. If you want to keep on going where you're going just keep doing your own thing. But if you want all the Blessings the God of the Bible has planned for you then go with the Bible. God Almighty makes no apology for His dominion.

The bible is not an authoritative source against anything or anyone, people who read and believe the bible (which is really a fictional book written translatedly from stories of unknowns, translated over and over again and again in writings), are not using their basic common sense and education and faithfully, blindly try to follow and adhere to.

It doesn't, the Bible is a GUIDELINE for life, and I have never read the part about not having sex with cheese, could you quote that chapter and verse, because I thought that I had heard them all.
