Ok I'm 18.. and recently I've been having lapses in memory. For example today, I got out of my car at a grocery store a half hour away (where I used to live), not remembering the trip or why I went to that grocery store (instead of the one a couple blocks down the street). Should I be worried?

You are going through what the experts call a fugue. It's disassociation.. I'm not sure if I spelled that right. I used to loose time whenever I was under allot of stress. I don't do that anymore. I went to a psychiatrist, I was put on medication and I also talked to a therapist. I am fine now. This is the way many people handle stress that they don't want to handle so they go into a part of their mind and let another part take over for them.Only thing is you have to face it one way or another. Please get help and Good Luck!

You should not only be worried but you should be on the phone making an appointment to see a doctor...fast. I suggest you tell friends and family about this too and don't drive anywhere, have people take you until this is looked into completely.

Are you on any drugs, drinking any alcohol? If so, you better stop.

no, you should not be worried, when a person has many of things on their mind at one time, when you want to get so much done, in so short of time,
just remember you are only one person!
write yourself notes, leave them were you are going to see them. if you don't want to write notes get a recorder, you won't have to waste your mind. and it will make your life enjoyable, instead of trying to rack your brain trying to remember every thing there is more important things in life,to do.

There could be lots of reasons for this but you're obviously concerned and that's reason enough to see a doctor for advice.
