it would be better if you kept it to yourself, but if you feel the need to share the burden or misery with someone else, i suggest open up to your:
mother. ..
not all wives can keep a secret. especially since women are known to me extreme gossipers, your wife's tongue might slip and spill your secret during a normal but heavy session of gossiping.
your mother has taken care of you since birth, your mother reared you up, and your mother didn't kill you when you did something wrong before.
your mother can handle any truth, lies or whatever's.
and like you said. your mother won't do something that she knows will have you lying dead on the floor the next morning.
no matter how faithful your wife can be. there will be marital problems, and in your own words, might use your secret to take on an ultra-revenge quest on you.
trust your mother. your mother and yourself.
just make sure it ain't your mother-in-law. =)

I wouldn't tell either one. Your mother doesn't need the pain & usually when someone feels a strong need to admit to something, it is to relieve themselves of guilt - or to share it.
Why don't you find a psychologist? I see my therapist when I need help with a specific emotional problem & it's usually taken care of in one or two sessions.
That way you can talk it out & get it off your chest with an uninvolved, trained, professional. And you will have given no one else other than yourself any pain.

Well, I would go with my own wife because my mom would sell me out for money. Just because someone is a mother doesn't mean she is looking out for her own child's best interest. My father died, was divorced from my mother for 10 years, and she tried to go after my inheiritance and my father's house because I was only 17. Some women are rats, mothers or not. I'd trust my wife over my mother anyday.

When you married your wife, biblically, you left your mother and fathers care. When you say revenge, it sounds like your wife is going to be angry- so maybe ask mom for advice, go from there.

What is your need to reveal it now, also if you can't trust your wife you better not tell her, as for your mom. i would be very cautious, as moms have been known to try and FIX problems that are impossible to repair. , also once a secret is shared it isn't a secret any more

Your mom....... wives (or husbands for that matter) can come and go, but your mom will always have the loving protective "mom" instinct no matter what the problem is. You're so right about the revenge...... go with mom.

Well, if its a secret, keep it for yourself. I can't say. Sometimes a mama is better, sometimes wife is better. Depends on who they are. But if it is really going to cost your life, I would suggest to bury it deeply, or share with somebody you don't know, like on chat rooms.

can you talk to both of them?..have them together and tell them both what is happening..or happened to you. If one knows and the other does'nt...the one who knows will surely want the othe to know. And if someting did happened, and the one who did'nt know before, found out the other one knew..trust me..it would be alot of hurt happening.
I can't even imgine what the problem is..but i hope you can sort it out and be able to live in peace again.

Ya know.....your wife is the person you vowed to spend your life with....and if your relationship isn't strong enough to withstand this - what else will happen in the future that you can't tell her? Man up and tell her!
