My TV is six years old and the screen has started turning black at times. Does this mean I need a new TV?

Yes. You definitly need a new TV, when your screen turns black/green/purple it means that some level of electromagnetism is affecting the transformers in the back. For some entertainment however, you can leave your TV on for over 6 hrs and leave a heavy duty magnet under the back part of the tube facing towards the front. You might get lucky and see an explosion, if not at least the screen may crack and small fires may erupt from the back. Anyway, a TV is mans best friend(**** dogs) and TV's live faster than humans. One human year is 15 TV years, so you really spent a whole lifetime with your TV. It is always sad to see a friend go but when they have to at least you could send him out in style, have a nice burial, microwave some burritos(u know they were his favorite) mourne the death then go out and buy a new best friend. I reccomend a 40" HD Sony V series Bravia, I recently bought one(******* expensive but worth every penny) and It was a good replacement for my recently departed best friend of a tube TV. It's time to move on firend...move on to HDTV, It's the way of the future. 5 years from now, there won't be another option except HDTV, so buy one now. Your TV watching experience will turn into a TV watching orgasm.
