Serious question. In Judaism & Christianity, Father God's name is "YHWH". Some add vowels to make it "Yahweh" and some think it is pronounced "Jehovah". In Islam, Muslims call God Allah. Does Allah mean "God" or is it Islam's God's "Name"? If it means "God", then what is his "name"? This is a serious question and not meant to insult anyone or their belliefs. I'm just trying to understand.
Thank you and peace to all.

You have the right idea there. Allah is simply the Arabic translation for the word 'God'.
Muslims believe that Allah has 99 names which includes Al-Adl (The Just), Ar-Razzaq (The Provider), Al-Aziz (The All Mighty). For more of these names and their explanations just go here: http://www.faizani.com/articles/names.html
Poki Poki - I don't think he was trying to be disrespectful, don't worry bro :)

Allah is a combination of two words; Al, which means "the", and ilah, which means "god." The words combined become Allah, "The God." The word Allah is I believe the only word in the Arabic language that has no gender to it and cannot be pluralized. Interesting considering Muslims believe God has no gender and is only One. However, don't be mislead, Arab Christians also use the term Allah. Also, as you may know, Arabic and Hebrew both originated from Aramaic, so they are essentially brother languages. In Judaism, YHWH may be the term most used for the name of God, but God in Hebrew is Eloh (I have also seen it spelled Eloi). Elohim is a term you may have heard before, and it is the plural form of Eloh. The terms Eloh and Allah are very similar.

Although the Tetragrammaton does not appear in the Quran, many Muslims accept the personal names "Yahweh" and "Jehovah" as specifically referring to the one Almighty God. As the question indicates, "Allah" means simply "the [one] God".

they don't worship an identical God. The Koran states that God had no son. additionally, Muslims worship a God that advocates forced worship. The Jewish God and the Christian God do not settle for worship achieved below duress. Jews see God as singular, Christians describe him as trinitarian. the daddy of the Christian Trinity is an identical through fact the only God of the Jews. If Christians ought to alter their thought of the Trinity to allow the daddy to be greater beneficial than the Son and Holy Spirit and the source of their being, then the Jewish and Christian innovations of God may well be united. The Muslim God is diverse in his very nature and might't be reconciled with the two the Jewish or Christian God.
