Well, if he is really your best friend, you should not have any problem. What does it mean by "best friend"? I suppose that means when you feel comfortable with him and open to him. So to make it to the next level, just be open about it.

You better think about this asking your best friend out and it doesn't work then after wards you all may not be best friends. You may end up without a best friend and a boyfriend. but on the other hand you may live happy forever taking a BIG chance Good luck
