Also, my cousin says that if you download movies from FrostWire, you might get viruses and he also says that if you download music from FrostWire, you don't get any viruses. Is this true? Can anyone teach me the correct way of using FrostWire?

The downside is that a lot of movies and music that is fake. If you search for a movie like "Borat" you'll see thousands of results -- probably 90% of them are fake, and you can't tell which is real -- so it will be hard to find some movies.

Songs I find are a little bit easier, but if you get a whole bunch of results there might be fakes in there too. This usually happens with really popular songs. But not all popular songs are like this -- it's the record companies that put out the fakes -- some do, some don't.

The way I try to get around fakes is right after you hit search there will be a second pause, then a few search results will pop up, usually between 1-5. A second later an avalanche of search results start pouring in -- most of those are fakes. The trick is to doubleclick one of those few songs before the avalanche comes. Don't worry that it doesn't show a lot of users having it -- frostwire will seek out more. And if you know a bunch of fakes are coming in, look for the songs with only a few users.

You might also eliminate some of the fakes by putting the title in the search bar in quotation marks. For example, "I Will Always Love You". I find this eliminates a lot of the fakes from showing up.

Both techniques could work for both music and movies.

Viruses:
There are some thing that contain viruses. However, if you're searching for video or music files it's impossible for those things to contain viruses because they can't mess with your computer. I don't worry because I have an anti-virus software. It alerts me when I download a virus, and it lets me delete it. Just because you download a virus doesn't mean it has infected your computer. You have to run the program to make it do something bad. Since I delete them when it warns me, I know my computer is fine. If you don't know how to use your anti-virus software, then this might be a problem. Also, are you sure your friend got the viruses from a movie? Or did they just think it came from there?

I have Frostwire and it's GREAT. I also have E-Mule. I like Frostwire better, though. It does so much more than E-Mule. Frostwire does NOT come with viruses.

Yes you can download viruses, just make sure the files you download are scanned by your anti virus program.

First off, frost wire was made from the source of lime wire. You should download it instead. There is no difference, except limewire is probably more reliable. Getting a virus is a given for any p2p file sharing program.
