When our 3 boys we small our cat would regularly go awol in the house, for hrs at a time. I did understand her wisdom. She loved the kids but. I could not fiqure out her hiding spot till one day I opened a bottom dresser drawer in my room & there was the sleeping cat. It was a drawer I didn't need to open often. There was an opening underneath the drawer, & enough room for her to climb in from the back of it. I figure smart old cat, closed the drawer & kept her secret. Everyday she could find peace & quiet from the kids. There were days I truly envied her. I was not so lucky.

Tallest bookcase in the house...on top of the old crt monitor...in the kitchen cabinets. I used to have one who would sleep inside the toilet bowl, just above the water. It was an old fashioned commode, kind of big around and flattish and the water was way low down. No telling how many times she almost got wet from above! She also slept on top of the shower stall a lot. On top of our big screen tv...right now, 1 to a chair in the living room, so no one else can sit down...spare room closet, on the shelf, among the christmas ornaments...on top of the valance box...BEHIND the washer (lots of fun when you turn it on before they know you're there)...when Baby was small, he'd get between the pillows on the bed. Worf sometimes gets UNDER the covers on the bed, but not if we're in bed...just, sometimes you walk by and there's a lump in the bedspread, and it's him. this could go on forever...they're SO funny!

One of my cats is an indoor-outdoor cat and she likes to sleep during the day on the roof of a small barn in the yard that is shaded and protected by a mulberry tree that is inside a goat pen.
When I come home she jumps down to a chainlink fence, climbs down and runs across the yard to see me.

Molly, a Maine Coon, likes to sleep in a small box that I have sitting on top of my kitchen cupboards. She jumps from the floor to the top of the microwave and then from the microwave to the top of the cupboard. When you are out in the kitchen, you feel like someones watching you and sure enough, there sits Molly watching you cook dinner. She's a great cat. My other Maine Coon, Zeke likes to sleep across the bottom of my dining room chairs. They have two cross bars and he flops down on them and falls sound asleep. It looks very uncomfortable, but he sleeps like a rock like that. Cats can be very weird sometimes.

Well Cat Lady! I have a handsome boy, Zack who just loves to sleep with me. Not on me, not at the foot of the bed, NO, he must sleep under the covers. I must hug him around his tummy, (he puts himself in that position), once I am hugging him, he will then rest his head on my arm (as I sleep in a semi-foetal position) and we both fall asleep. Now low and behold, if during the night, he looses his position. He will 'kiss" me until I wake up and let him back in. It is most annoying, believe me. But I love him a lot. I have another cat - Precious - she sleeps where ever she wants. But only comes around me if no one else is in the house. She is very antisocial, until she gets to know you.

I also have one that sleeps on my face at night. My other one sleeps in the kitchen cabinet above the refrigerator on a pile of very important papers...he guards it for me..lol. Though i have caught both of them sleeping on the built in plant shelf near the ceiling in my living room...how they get up there or down is still a mystery.
