You would be 5006 years old, depending on what month.

BC is "Before Christ"
English not Latin
It means before Christ's was born.

AD is Anno Domini
Latin for "the year of our lord"

You couldnt use the latin breakdown for before christ because it would be "ante dominium", which would be abbreviated AD again.

you are right that BC is read differently. Think of it as either a countdown or, if you are more mathematically inclined, the negative numbers on the scale. Given that, 3000 BC is much older than 2000 BC. On a separate note, the BC and AD systems have been replaced in historical study with CE (Common Era) and BCE (Before the Common Era); however, it is still on the same scale. So, 1400 AD is now 1400 CE, and October 19, 4004 BC is now October 19, 4004 BCE.

3000 BC means 3000 years Before Christ. Add 3000 to the 2006 years AD (which means Anno Domini) for 5006. Depending on your birthdate, you would be either 5005 (if you were born between today and Dec 31) or 5006 (if you were born today or before) years old.

5006 Years old. BC = before Christ

AD = Anno Domini

Of course, you wouldn't exist, since according to the bible, the world was created around 2800 BCE. That would make you 200 years older than the universe/earth.

BC does mean before Christ. You would be 5005 or 5006 or 5007 depending on the theory. There is a theory that there was a year or so difference in the count.
