I hear about age of accountability, but what should we be accountable for is we cannot choose what inspires us and how we feel about things? Saying we can control our emotions is a weak argument when that control is gained by chance. Why is it that babies who are kept alive but not given human contact, remain in the state of a baby well beyond it's infancy? Because we mimic what we learn. Sometimes foundation overrides new knowlegde, but that is not freewill.

There is no right and wrong; there are only societal norms.

interesting premise. Also if a person suffers trauma his life is often forever changed. My guess is God assigns accountability to us in accordance with our abilities. That age of accountability is probably flexable. Being a counselor for many years I have often been presented with poeople who could not be able to make some decisions without the effects of previous times having affected their decision making processes. On the other hand two people having similar disabilities can make entirely different decisions. One may become accustomed to victimize others while another one having a similar past may be very nice.

I leave this in my "i do not know file",, and I do not need to know because it does not affect my ability to follow biblical directives.

Freewill and the age of accountability are intertwined. Your freewill kicks in when you know the difference between right from wrong...I'm neither Arminian nor Calvinist....I believe the Bible is clear on the matter.

Free will is not a age related event, but a knowledge related matter. Free will begins when you know the difference between
right and wrong and you have to choose.

Sure you can choose your emotions .... if you were crying tearfully over the loss of your girlfriend and some of your buddies walked up, you'd certainly dry your tears and joke with them about sinus problems, wouldn't you?

Half of Christians (Arminian side) believe we have a free will, the other half (Calvinistic side) do not believe that we have a free will. I am on the Calvinistic side and I don't believe we have a free will or ever get one.
