try a pinata (dont know how to get the curvy mark on top of the "N"). in the biggest room in your house. You can find directions for making these or you can buy a ready-made one. This would be for the toddlers, though. There might not be much success with organized games for the wee ones (experience from my neice's 1st bday party). Try just giving them finger paints or crayons. just let them be kids. good luck and have fun!

You know I get the idea that kids are smart but give me a break. What games can 1 year olds play? If there are older kids at the party you could have them color, draw and color; recite short stories; shadow play; ring toss or a version of it with cut off bleach bottles and balls; hide stuff and give them a list of the hidden and have them find; songs; If they are under five years, maybe a couple of good short videos...snack foods

I am going to put up alot of bright colors and contrast designs! Have toys that your angel generally plays with available so she wont freak out and think something crazy is going on with all the noise and different people.1 year olds tend to be a lil scared at everything that is going on around them so just take it easy and try to have it as relaxed as possible...Balloons are a great idea too..

What kind of games can 1 year-olds play?! Is this more for the parents, or some kids who are older?

for slightly older kids: hide and seek, red light green light, tag

for baby/toddlers: play with a ball (roll back and forth in a circle.)

My opinion is just let the little ones do what comes natural and play. They also can watch videos. (especially Barney) My daughter is one and these are things she likes. Dont stress about it or you will make everyone miserable including yourself. The point is to have fun. So relax. Serve a little cake and maybe sandwiches. Good luck and have fun.
P.S. The little one wont remember so let her have fun.

I think that they would have fun if you got the game twister and layed it down as a play mat not to play the game obviously, but the colors. My son at that age liked thoes foam balls they are like the size of grapefruit different colors, I got him like 20 of them, cause they are cheap, and I threw them all over, he kept busy for hours!!! Once, I put the foam balls in his blow up swimming pool and put it in the living room. Easy fun for small guys or girls.

They don't need any games at age 1. Just let the kids play with toys, and have fun! Don't stress about it. If you must do *something* just have bubbles or mylar balloons (not latex -- serious choking hazard for little ones) for them to play with.

This is going to a gathering for adults. The one year old isn't going to remember it, so have fun with a few sandwiches, put Cbeebies on for the little ones, and have them boogie with the beebies and laugh at 'Big Cook, Little Cook'.
