Actually the Bible clearly states that some sins are freater than others:
1 John 5:16-17 - If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.
Luke 12:46-48 - Then that servant's master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the unfaithful. That servant who knew his master's will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely; and the servant who was ignorant of his master's will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly. Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.
Matthew 5:19 - Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
With love in Christ.

It doesn't really... It actually teaches some sins are more harmful than others such as sin that is sexual in nature:
1Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
Needless to say lying and murder do differ in the degree. I guess the important thing to note all sin carries judgment.

Mat 5:21:22 You have heard that the law of Moses says, Do not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgement. But I say if you are angry with someone, you are subject to judgment. If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the high council. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.
Killing is a terrible sin, but anger is a great sin too because it also violated God's command to love. Anger keeps us from developing a spirit pleasing to God. Jesus said that we will be held accountable even for our attitudes.

We all know that there is a difference in sin. Would it be better if my daughter gets robbed or raped then killed? I dont know about you but the robbing seems nice in comparison. But for the purposes of eternal punishment sin is all eqaul.
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. -Matthew 5:22

As far as I know, it does not say that. And judging from the simple fact that some sins carried much bigger penalties than other, I would say it implies the opposite.

Hi raevenwolfe_67. You will not find anywhere in the Bible the concept that God hates one sin more than another. There is only one sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy against the Holy Sprit.
The Bible teaches us in Mark 3:22 that blasphemy is declaring Satan sent Christ. "And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.” They were convinced the power Christ used to cast out devils and heal people came from Satan himself.
Christ speaking about blasphemy in Matthew 12:31-32 says
"Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
Now, a person has to do more than just say Jesus was sent by Satan to commit blasphemy. That person truly has to believe it.
The fact that a person is worried about commiting blasphemy is a sign that you have not commited blasphmey.
Jesus speaking in John 5:24-25 preaches: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live."

Isaiah 59:2
Sin separates you from God. It doesn't mention degrees of sin, it doesn't need to. It is the action that is wrong, it keeps you from God. ANY sin unrepented and unforgiven with open the door to hell for you.
